Sag Harbor Yard Sales

By 1789 Sag Harbor was reported to carry more tonnage of square-rigged commercial vessels than the port of New York, and through the first half of the 1800s it ranked among the major American whaling ports. The industry collapsed after 1847 and the village turned to other manufacturing, including the Bulova watchcase factory at the corner of Division and Church streets, which operated until 1981 and has since been redeveloped into residential lofts.

The dense nineteenth-century street grid behind Main Street, the older Eastville neighborhood, and the residential blocks running up Jermain Avenue form the core of the year-round village. That older housing stock is where most of the village's estate sales come out of.
