Westhampton is a hamlet and census-designated place in the Town of Southampton, spread north and west of the incorporated Village of Westhampton Beach in the southwestern part of the town. Montauk Highway and Sunrise Highway both serve the area, and the 2020 census counted 3,621 residents.

About Westhampton
The Long Island Rail Road reached the area in 1869, and the Westhampton station sits on Station Road south of Francis S. Gabreski Airport. The airport was built by the federal government in 1943 as an Army Air Forces field and was renamed in 1991 for Colonel Francis S. Gabreski, the World War II fighter ace who commanded a fighter wing there in the 1960s; it remains home to the New York Air National Guard's 106th Rescue Wing. Away from the airport and the highway corridors, the hamlet is largely residential streets spread between Sunrise Highway and the village line, and that housing stock, rather than the village's commercial Main Street, is where the hamlet's yard and estate sales come up.
